I don't know why, but when the screen blanker activates, it causes an error while transfering a file over the phone. It took a while to track down the source of the errors I was getting (mostly timeouts, but other flavors as well), but then I noticed Diga report an error just as the screen dimmed. I re-ran ScreenBlanker with a 3 second timeout, and every time it dimmed the screen, the file transfer picked up another error. I suspected ScreenBlanker might be dumping something out the serial port, but it isn't. Whatever is causing the problem is at a lower level. I have also verified this with the PD terminal program Comm. I have switched back to the old un-improved ScreenBlanker (thank goodness it was on my backup Workbench disk!). Since Charlie Heath isn't on usenet, I'll have to send this bug report into him via snail mail. If someone here is on BIX, they might forward this to cheath. One thing I've learned is not to dump the old version of an updated program too soon! -- Blaine Gardner @ Evans & Sutherland UUCP Address: {ihnp4,decvax}!decwrl!esunix!blgardne Alternate: {ihnp4,seismo}!utah-cs!utah-gr!uplherc!esunix!blgardne
