[] Just got Facc --- and I agree with all the people who said it was worth getting. I remember reading something about command line arguments in one message --- That would be useful! (So you could say "facc 500"). Another command line option that I would appreciate is to start off in the "shrunk" (and inactivated) state, at some corner somewhere. (You could say "facc -s 500" or something...) I also got StarGlider, and it is pretty good (and addictive, I had to tear myself from it to read USENET today. That good!). The objects are all wire-frame and see-through, but I like the justification provided in the "Flight Operations Manual": You apparently have an "enhanced- vision" canopy that lets you see the objects you have to see (like enemy tanks and planes) by highlighting their edges. It also lets you see through objects so that you can spot enemy tanks behind buildings and such. Now how's that as an excuse to have wire-frame objects? But, hey, I'm not complaining, I needed a game that fast... The game reminds me very much of Arctic Fox (which I like), except its much faster. Same kind of enemy movement, etc... One complaint I have is that the game wants a seperate disk for high-scores (won't use the disk you copied the game to...). It also says "no need to format the high-score disk" --- Seems like they store the high scores in such a way that no one can screw around with them. BTW, yesterday I almost blew up a Mac Plus by leaving my Amiga World on top of it for a few hours. I normally put papers and magazines on top of the Amiga monitor and think nothing of it. Well, apparently the only way the Mac can cool down is through the top, and if it wasn't for this guy who pointed this out, that Mac would've been history (along with my Amiga World which was real hot!). How's that for cheap? (The SE apparently has a fan, but a noisy one...) Moral: Next time you see a Mac make sure you "forget" something heavy and large on top of it... 8-) Ali Ozer, ali@rocky.stanford.edu
