[comp.sys.amiga] What ever happened to Info-Amiga?

Hello All,

It has been a while (March) and I know most of you would like to know
what happened to Info-Amiga. Well, alot.

Your moderator was sick throughout April. For various reasons it has
taken me this long to catch up with both my schoolwork and my job.

We are now faced with several problems as a group.

The volume of news coming over from Usenet deems it impossible for me
to give up the time required needed to maintain the list. If anyone
wishes to maintain info-amiga in the fashion in which it was run, I
will step aside. Otherwise, the list requires some form of
reorganization.

I propose that we break the link with Usenet and start our own message
database. This will slow the mail down considerably. I realize that
there is a lot of useful information in comp.sys.amiga but the signal
to noise ratio is too low. I have been tossing the idea of
restricting postings to new product announcements, reviews, and new
ideas for the Amiga.

If you are still interested in info-amiga, please indicate what you
would like to see done with the list by mailing to
info-amiga-request@red.rutgers.edu.

Eliot,
I for one would like to continue to receive as much information as
possible on the Amiga. Even with lots of 'noise', much information can
still be filtered out from these messages. I'm not in a position to
offer any assistance, but I hope my opinion helps in some way!
  Tom.

You suggest ignoring USENET, who/what does that leave? I would like to
see as much info on as you care to pass along, but
new-ideas/announcements/reviews would be better than nuthin! (of
course, the work/time involved in reading the stuff is a bit lower than
managing/culling it).

Whatever you do is fine ... welcome back to life.

A vote for new product reviews (hardware and software) and applications
for the Amiga. The Amiga is coming in strong here in Singapore but price
is still kinda high (S$3000+ or US$1500+). Would really like to get news.
We're counting on you !
