Situation: Open about 20 dotty windows, one full sized, others small. 1. Put the large one in the back, then in front, then in back again. Note: All cli/background windows come up immediately, including window frames. Spots start apearing where the dotty windows will be, before the windows are drawn. Spots usually come in bursts, indicating that one task is hogging the CPU. Question: Why does intuition allow them to run anyways if it needs to fix up their windows and then say "refresh"? Q: Why the bursts? Q: Why do the dotty window frames take forever to redraw? 2. Now start using the CLI. changetaskpri 1 to give it priority over the dotty windows. Things are very slow on display (such as dir) for a while, then it suddenly speeds up. Q: Since the console.device, and the cli, and everyone else involved has a higher priority, and this is a ram disk (no delay there), why is it slow for so long at the beginning? 3. Now bring the large dotty window back in front. The border is drawn much faster than the little window's boarders, but it is drawn twice. Why? Finally, why is the mouse locked out for so long? Can this (especially) be fixed for 1.3? -- : Michael Gersten seismo!scgvaxd!stb!michael : Monsters from outta space -- 3-11-2
