(Sorry about the world distribution of this posting, but (A) people have been known to come long distances for the world's largest Amiga user's groups meetings, and (B) currently there is no way for me to limit distribution anyway with this system's software) The August 4 meeting of the First Amiga Users Group will be held at "Rickey's Hyatt House" in Palo Alto, which is on El Camino on the opposite side of the street from the previous location (the Palo Alto Hyatt). This is a smaller space, so seating is limited, come early. The Hyatt kicked us out because the 300 to 500 head crowd has not been buying enough drinks from the bar to suit the hotel's management, and they were charging FAUG the difference. On a similar note, Hewlett Packard kicked Augment (the South Bay Amiga users group) out of their auditorium because "they need a million dollars worth of publicity" to make it worth their while to continue to allow use of their facility. The August meeting of Augment will be held in the Milpitas library on Milpitas Blvd, just north of the intersection with Calaveras. So much for public service. Doug Merritt ucbvax!unisoft!certes!doug
