[comp.sys.amiga] copy protection, phreaks

I think I'll become a pirate. I think automobiles are overpriced. Imagine,
spending a quarter of my annual gross income on a CAR!!! Yup, those evil
exploiters of the working classes would gladly gouge us for whatever they
can get. I'll just go down to the lot and drive one off. They make so many
they wouldn't notice one less. That'll teach 'em for ripping us all off.
You know, if they would just make a reliable car for $2,000, I'd buy one in
a minute. One that would last 10 years and never need a tune up. It's so
easy to make a really reliable car, but those chiselers wouldn't spend the
tiny extra engineering time. All they care about is getting the next model
year out and polluting the atmosphere. Actually, most new cars aren't worth
the cost of the steel. I suppose I should leave 2,400 lbs of metal on the
car lot to justly compensate the manufacturer for their costs of production.
Yup, if car makers would take 2,400 lbs of steel in trade for an automobile,
they would sell more cars. My wife needs a new car too. And the kids need
new bicycles. I'd better teach little Johnny how to pick locks. It will
help him with his manual dexterity and will teach him something about the
world. Any store with pick-able locks DESERVES to get ripped off. My
neighbor's house doesn't have very good locks either. He wouldn't mind if I
went over there when he's gone and watched his big screen TV. After all, I
havn't taken anything. He won't even know I've been there. I can copy his
software while I'm in there too. Now he has a nice system. Too bad he's
such a turd about letting me copy the stuff he buys. Really he's an asshole.
It'd sure teach him if I just erased it all. After all, the disks won't
actually be damaged, they work the same as they always did. I just flipped
some little magnetic domains around.

OK, now for the take home exam. What's wrong with this picture? Hint: If
you answered, "Cars are physical objects.", you are only partially right.
You ignored the last half, and besides I left 2,400 lbs of steel.
