[Go ahead...eat my line!] Reposted from JHR4373@TAMVENUS.BITNET I apologize in advance if this gets double posted, but I haven't seen my original posting appear so... here goes. Question: I am using a string requester with the GADGETUP/RELVERIFY combination and have noticed a discrepency between the string gadget's behavior and the behavioral description of string gadgets in the Intuition Manual. In the manual, it states that the string gadget will be deselected when either the user presses return or clicks off the gadget. From this I assume that a GADGETUP message should be generated when either of these two events occurs. As expected, pressing return does generate a GADGETUP _BUT_ clicking elsewhere DOES NOT generate a GADGETUP!!! WHY!?! This would not be so bad in and of itself, but to compound the problem, if the user selects the string gadget, edits it a little, and then clicks off the gadget without pressing return, any attempt to examine the gadget's buffer, results in a visit from the guru. NOT NICE! Does anyone know of some obscure, esoteric, mysterious, etc flag or something that I need to set to cause clicking off the gadget to generate a GADGETUP.
