[comp.sys.amiga] advice on 24-wire *color* dot matrix printers

sdl@linus.UUCP (Steven D. Litvintchouk) (08/03/87)

Hi,

I am looking for a high-resolution, 24-wire (24-pin) dot-matrix
printer for some desktop publishing and graphics applications.
However, I also need color.

Does anyone have any advice on which printers produce the best output,
and which are affordable (i.e. under $1000)? For example, does the
Epson LQ-800 support color? Also, are there Amiga printer drivers
available?

Please respond directly to me. Thanx in advance!

I am using The FUJITSU DL2400 24 wrire color printer, It works fine
even on transparencies for overhead projectors.
However the driver I am using is not perfect (JX-80):
1) It is very slow for graphics, lot of print-head moving for nothing
2) The full graphic resolution does not appear to be implemented

In fact good printer drivers need still to be written for the AMIGA
