[comp.sys.amiga] AmigaDOS script hacking...

pete@violet.berkeley.edu (08/22/87)

In an earlier article on the net (which I missed -- I'm going by mwm's
reply to it) Michael Portuesi was looking for a method of "append
redirection" with ">>".

I'd just like to put in a gentle reminder that my shareware CLI enhancement
"Sili(Con:)" -- amongst many other things -- HAS ">>" as a built-in option.
Even command script files can use it: Sili(Con:) handles command scripts
without parameters directly, and those which have to go through EXECUTE
processing are passed back to it eventually. And BTW it recognizes
"commands" that are actually EXECUTE scripts and invokes that CLI command
automatically. 50% or more of my commands are now scripts, kept in RAM: so
they are fast.

Anyway, if you're like me and want to make efficient use of the CLI
commands as they exist now, you might check out Sili(Con:). A somewhat
earlier version than the current one is available on Fish Disk #50. I hope
to get the current incarnation off to him within the next few days (it
isn't very different from the previous, but has a few minor improvements
and fixes).
