We've heard from the radical anti-Pixarians who have decided a boycott is the way to deal with this "Red's Dream" fiasco. Some outsider reading this group may get the wrong impression and think we're all like that. :-) I have a lot of respect for Pixar, and this situation does not change that one bit. My respect is partially tied to the wonderful demos they put out; and my recognition of their name substantially so (the rest is due to Lucasfilm and friends). I encourage Pixar's demos and talks, and hope they do many more in the future. When it comes time to purchase graphics hardware or services Pixar will be looked at first, and in the case of a tie between Pixar and "Generic Graphics Systems" it should be obvious who would win. About the only kink in this is that I'm not in that habit of purchasing $49,995 graphics systems... yet. ** All the above is based on Pixar's earlier demos. I have yet to see "Red's Dream", though I have seen Leo's spinnoff. Perhaps Pixar could arrange for a showing at the spinnoff's last showing ever... the September 1st FAUG meeting? 1/2 :-) It could do a lot to smooth ruffled Amigan's feathers. :-| ( I, on the other hand, just want a chance to see it! ) |\_/| .
