This letter is being typed on a Telnet link established between my amiga and one of our vaxes. Karns stuff really works on the amiga! Kudos to Phil Karn and Louis Mamakos, who modified Karn's good code for the Amiga. You can pick this package up at trantor.umd.edu. Note the implication: Amigas can now be networked out the serial port. You can connect two amigas together via TCP, and have just one drive the laser printer or whatever. Fun. If they had just one more serial port, you could really have some fun... Amigas come with networking hardware (serial port) that works over standard short-and-long haul modems. And they talk to the TCP/IP world. Maybe C-A should give this one away- first program i have found for the Amiga that is useful for my work! Egad users: For those who are having trouble with it, you are not alone. According to the code, boolean gadgets do not work yet. (I.E. the addboolean function is: addboolean(){}) I have gotten it to work sometimes, but it is iffy. Also, you CAN compile it under lattice- my lattice version works better than the binaries from trantor.umd.edu! There are one or three changes to be made- anybody who cares let me know. Ron Minnich
