No, McIntosh is the maker of moderately expensive mid-high audio
equipment. The ab$olute high end comes from people who's names you
don't hear outside of obscure audiophile magazines and stores that
shuffle speakers into and out of listening rooms for you.

$5000 is about right for a system of McIntosh components, possibly
with speakers.

$5000 is what you expect to pay *per component* for the good stuff.
Speakers will be expensive, though.

Me, until I can afford to build a house with a room for good audio
gear, I stay with the mid-high stuff.
