Hello again. A while back some people were talking about the hidden menu in the workbench, accessed by loading wb with the -debug option. I've messed around with it, but I can't seem to get it to do anything useful. Could someone explain its uses, or point me to a reference in the AmigaDOS manual? In particular, why does my whole system lock up when I trigger the 'debug' option at the top? If it matters, I have a 256K Amiga (I know, I know, I plan to grab an expansion at the end of this month) with one drive, and V1.1 of DOS. Thanks!

Oops. Should have said "when I trigger the 'debug' option at the top of the menu". Thanks.

There are two menuitems in the "hidden" menu: Debug and flushlibs. Debug fires up ROMWack, a resident debugger. The system hasn't really locked up. ROMWack has just taken over. The reason you don't see anything happen is because ROMWack works through a 9600 baud terminal connected to the serial port. Chapter 15 of the A-W AMIGA ROM Kernel Manual: Libraries and Devices gives a full explanation of ROMWack. The second menuitem, flushlibs, will reclaim flushout (and reclaim the memory) any disk-loaded libraries, keymaps (I think), etc. that are not being used by any current tasks. > Thanks! Your welcome!
