Now i just need two things, or maybe someone has this combined into one thing. I need a program that can view a large bitmap and scroll around it, sort of like the MacPaint program viewer that was on one of the fish disks. The bitmap would be 1200 by 800 or so, i am still not completely sure of how wide these DVI files get. The MacPaint viewer of course had nice proportional gadgets on the side for moving around. The other thing would be an IFF viewer that could view a series of ILBMs or BMAPS in a file, one at a time. It would be nice if the program had gadgets built into it for going forward or backward. It would also be nice if it had a string gadget for selecting the 'nth' BMAP, or i can add this too. Anyway, if someone out there has either of these please email to me, as that will save a lot of time in getting this thing out. Say, what is the format of a notepad file anyway? is it some sort of IFF or something bizarre? Ron Minnich

Re: scrolling on a 1200x800 window. You should use a superbitmap window. That will give you up to 1024x1024, very close to what you want. Then you need the source for the Workbench Lines Demo, which provides vertical and horizontal scroll gadgets. That's what we used to the ZOOM mode in A-TALK PLUS. I don't remember exactly where I got the sources for the Lines Demo, but the code says that it is from amiga!bart. He is on the net. When coupling SUPERBITMAPs and scroll bars, remember to Synch the map before saving in IFF. Hope this helps. -- Marco -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Marco Papa 3175 S.
