Just to mention a related item. I have had now for over 2 months an Okidata Laserline II. This is a Laserjet Plus compatible printer, which uses the latest RICOH engine. It is absolutely inexpensive ($1200 discounted almost everywhere). With 512K it can handle full Amiga screens (I like the dithering produced by the LJ+ driver). With the Amiga it works just out of the box. I bought a parallel version, while there is also a serial one and both can also include a "multi"-port device (so one can connect it concurrently to more than one PC or Amiga). I found it works perfectly with Notepad, and produces TeX output IDENTICAL to the one from an Apple Laserwriter (actually even darker), at a fraction of the price of the latter. It has 15 (!!) built in fonts, and one can use all of them with WordPerfect, for example. By the way, the TeX output was produced by the Utah Pd dvijep driver. I am really glad I bought this printer. I have no association with Okidata, except as a satisfied customer. -- Marco -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Marco Papa 3175 S.
