Alex Bevan is a folksinger with a loyal local following in the Cleveland Ohio area. He also was somewhat popular 4 or 5 years ago in southwest Virginia, where I first heard of him. He has released a couple of albums on private local labels, titled "Springboard" and "Grand River Lullabye", as well as an early album on Big Tree Records that even his loyal fans aren't too familiar with, titled "No Truth To Sell". Does anyone know what Alex is doing these days? Is he still playing in Cleveland? Has he put out any records other than the titles above? If so, how can I get them? Any up-to-date information would be appreciated. Dave Bauer (allegra, rabbit, inhp4, inuxc)!druca!dlb AT&T Information Systems Laboratories Denver CO

Although I am not a big fan of Bevan, it is hard to escape hearing about him here in Cleveland. I'm not certain if he is a native of the area, but it seems that he must have gotten started in the music business here and has built up a substantial local following. I just checked the newspaper and see that he is performing at a local spot Wednesday night. If you are really interested in finding out more about him, I'd suggest you contact his record company (whoever that might be). One of the local FM stations, WMMS, seems to have a good relationship with him and might also be of help in bringing you up to date with respect to his activities. <> I posted this same request about 4 months ago, but got only one response which said only that yes, Alex Bevan is still alive and well and performing periodically in Cleveland. Could anyone provide any additional information? Alex Bevan is a folksinger with a loyal local following in the Cleveland Ohio area.
