Well, now it can be told. After 6 1/2 years at JPL I have accepted an offer
for a new job (and I wasn't really even looking).
As of October 5th, 1987 I will be Vice President in charge of Software
Development for Microillusions Inc. Believe
it or not, part of my job will be to monitor bulletin boards and nets for
comments and questions on MI products. So you folk will see me a lot here and
on BIX.
I had to do a lot of thinking to make this change. One of the main draws
(besides the executive level salary hike) was the opportunity I will have to
continue to work on my own software projects. The only 'management' I will be
doing will be keeping track of software being deveoped under independent
contract. But I don't see myself as, nor do I intend to become, a paper
pusher.
Besides, this way I get to go to Comdex :-)
