Monitors which don't have RGBA tend to get bad pictures when plugged into an Amiga. (an understatement) However, I learned how to get the best picture possible out of a split-composite monitor (like the 1902A). There are 3 video plus on the back of an Amiga - one of the is regular composite (and looks awful) one of them is an 8-pin (I think) like those on the C64/C128, and the third is the RGBA plug. If you use one of the older C64/C128 cables to get the Luma/Chroma signal, you can get a better picture. For the best picture experiment with using the regular composite signal in place of the Chroma - this sometimes strengthens the monitor picture. With such a setup, 640x400 is visible - but I wouldn't want to work with it. Hope this is helpful - Chris
