[comp.sys.amiga] BADGE Killer Demo Contest Suggestion

kent@xanth.UUCP (Kent Paul Dolan) (09/17/87)

Amiga net-folks,

I was just thinking, while trying to catch up on a week's worth of postings
(you folks sure keep those keyboards hot!) about the upcoming contest.

It occurred to me that lots of major awards (Oscar, Hugo, etc.), after a
number of years add a "lifetime achievement" category. Why not do it now
and beat the rush?

Would just be nice to recognize the premier spawner of killer demos for the
Amiga. Wouldn't have to be fancy, just a plaque would do.

I suggest one about cape-pocket size, just to be on the safe side. ;-)

Kent, the man from xanth. (Hssst. The fix is in, Leo!) ;-)

(Double Hssst. How do you keep that thing from getting tangled in the back
wheel? Pedal and never stop?) ;-)

Now just hold on a minute! If its a lifetime achievement award does that mean
that Leo won't be making anymore new demos!?? :-)

Have you ever seen some of those people that get that award? Talk about old
and crusty! Most of them nearly croak off right after getting the award
(HSST! Is this a secret plot by Pixar?) :-) :-)

After personally meeting the caped wonder, I don't think he's old or crusty!
(OLD: Nope, drinks the blood of frustrated atarians to keep young.)
(Crusty: Only after riding the recumbent down muddy dirt roads, ack phft!)
(Anyone know the address of an all-night cape cleaners?)

If BADGE doesn't get some more demo applicants, they'll have to kill him,
just so greener programmers won't be intimidated.

(Just so theres no misunderstanding, run this message through :-) ok?)
