I have heard a rumor that it is indeed possible to use MacIntosh fonts on an Amiga. How can it be done? Is there a program that takes care of all the "dirty work"? I have 5 disks of Mac fonts, and there quite few that I would love to port over to the Amiga. Hal netoprhm@ncsuvm.bitnet

Ok, the official scoop is that sopmebody around here has written a program that does indeed convert mac to amiga fonts. He got it to work a little bit, in that it did convert a mac font to an amifont, and they did work in both notepad and dpaint. We find out later it doesnt work with setfont or vizawrite, in that the space character doesnt show up. Also FED doesnt recognize them as fonts. My that sounds grim. But as I say, they DO work with Dpaint and Notepad. He is working on another project and doesnt have a spare moment to devote to it. From reading the mac grout I notice that some fonts from older machines dont work in newer macs, so maybe I dont feel so bad :-) Anyway, if you have 5 boxes of disks, MAIL THEM TO ME, I'll convert them and mail them back. Just make sure Pixar doesnt have the copyright to them. Usenet Font Disk Special Offer c/o Richard Sexton 2400 P.V. Drive W, #19 P.V.E.
