After hearing about the problems local dealers have had installing the 501 memory expansion boards in the A500s, I wasn't surprised to find similar problems installing a 2MB board in my B2000. The problem is that the pc board is so thick that the "gently insert" instructions in the directions are quite an understatement. To get it to fit, I had to push apart the slot contacts using a piece of metal which was close to the thickness of the pcb. This made it possible to get the board in (it still took a bit more than "gentle" pressure however!). BTW, I believe, the 501 problem involved the length of the board and not the thickness--a file apparently works wonders in this case. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gregg Whitcomb USENET: ucbvax!ic!whitcomb ARPA: whitcomb@ic.berkeley.edu ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
