<> I have an Amiga 2000, which I traded in my 1000 for, about 2 weeks ago. I like it real well, but I wanted to know what this business about a BUSTER daughterboard is all about. I opened up my 2000, which says.. Commodore B2000 Haynie/Fisher REV 4 on it. But I can't find a BUSTER daughterboard anywhere on it. My friend says that his has one. Also I have a paper sticker on the board that says REV 4.2 on it. Does this mean I have a newly fixed board, that is free of problems, and does not need a BUSTER board? Or did I get shafted? I would hate to find out later (90 days later :-) ) that I cannot expand my 2000 or something else as bad as this. Should I take it back and get a different 2000 with the Daughter on it? Dave? George? Andy? Anyone?? Thanks Mucho.. Kirk Baker

The first revision of the Buster chip had a bug in it; more specifically, a missing term in one of the backplane buffer control signals. Some of the very early units, mostly dealer demo and developer units, were shipped with this Buster in a small tower board. The tower board contains a PAL that adds the missing term. All later Buster chips have this corrected internally and as such have no need for a Buster tower board. The Rev 4.2 sticker indicates your machine is fully up to date. > > Thanks Mucho.. > Kirk Baker -- Dave Haynie Commodore-Amiga Usenet: {ihnp4|caip|rutgers}!cbmvax!daveh "The B2000 Guy" PLINK : D-DAVE H BIX : hazy "Computers are what happen when you give up sleeping" - Iggy the Cat

I popped the lid on my box this morning and the paper sticker says Rev 4.1. Can someone at CBM be a little more specific about what the differences are? I'm sure there are more than a few people like myself who are wondering. Thanks, CATS (I hope :-). -- Jerry Vanden Heuvel Voice: (206) 237-5080 Boeing Commercial Airplane Co.
