In response to Walter Reed: -> I am working on a version of MicroEmacs that would support either opening -> a new window or useing the current window and setting its mode to RAW. -> My problem is that I don't know how to get a processes message port. I have already done these mods, for emacs 3.8b and emacs 3.9. With emacs 3.9 I have also incorporated Phillip Lindsay's 'console.c' module which opens an 80 col. screen and provides MUCH improved speed in screen updates. My modifications simply check to see if emacs has been run, if so it opens a new screen using Phillips code. If emacs has not been Run eg '1> Emacs' then I set the current window to raw mode and use it. This also allows me to use emacs from my AUX: handler, and thus from another ansi style (VT100) terminal on the serial port. If anyone wants the mods (eg. new termio.c, console.c) drop me a line.
