..... If the VIRUS that's been running around is causing alot of trouble, what we need is a program that hangs out in the background, dis-infecting any disks that are inserted while it's running. It would be neat to have it hide itself on the disk so it can spread itself and help rid the world of the VIRUS, but then we'd need a VIRUS eating VIRUS eater. And then after that we'd need a VIRUS eating VIRUS eating VIRUS eater :-). and so on and so on and so on -Pete Peter Theobald SUNY/Buffalo Computer Science csnet: ugpete@buffalo.CSNET uucp: ..!{nike|watmath,alegra,decvax}!sunybcs!ugpete BITNET: ugpete@sunybcs.BITNET

I assume computer Viruses behave like biological Viruses which are no more than a strange of DNA or RNA encapsulated in a protein shell. They are nothing more than corrupting information. I guess than you'd call the cure a computer inhibitor, or anti-viral bacteria. I'm supposed to be an EE major so I'll stop. Wilson Cheung

I have just finished a VIRUS detector that can be used to find infected disks. Coming soon will be a program that will recognize and destroy the current strain as well as any others (God forbid!) that may develop! Stay tuned for more news as it happens. Why does the virus eater have to also be a virus? Also, any virus-eating viruses could be self terminating. Wade. UUCP: {cbosgd, hplabs!hp-sdd, sdcsvax, nosc}!crash!pnet01!haitex ARPA: crash!pnet01!haitex@nosc.mil INET: haitex@pnet01.CTS.COM
