This article is cross-posted to comp.sys.amiga because I know that a package (by John Lee?) that does something like what I want was posted there (although I don't know the status of the package). If you absolutely \must/ follow up to this article, please do it in comp.lang.postscript and remove comp.sys.amiga from the newsgroup list. But otherwise, please respond by mail. Thank you. I have a number of laser printers that I have been asked to make work with PostScript output from various sources; that is, I need a PostScript-to-farkle translator, where farkle is the native language for: - the NCR 6416, a Xerox 2700(?) resold by NCR (*) - the NCR 6426, a Xerox 4045 resold by NCR - the Talaris 1200, a QMS 1200 resold by Talaris Does anybody know of any such package(s)? Public domain (or otherwise free) would be prefered, but it's probable that we may be able to spend some money on it, if necessary, particularly if there is technical support. In the absence of such a package, I would be interested in C code that cracked PostScript and evaluated/executed it; that is, I would be interested in a front-end to which I could attach a printer-specific back end. If you have this or know who does, I'd like to hear from you. (*) There is hardware that is supposed to provide this capability; we already know about it. Since we have quite a number of these printers, a solution involving software would probably be cheaper. -- -- Greg Noel, NCR Rancho Bernardo Greg.Noel@SanDiego.NCR.COM or greg@ncr-sd
