I'm one of those people who doesn't plan to upgrade to the A2000, couldn't if I wanted too. I won't have a spare grand until March or maybe April, that is assuming that I filled out my W4 form correctly and don't owe Uncle mucho bucks. But so what? I don't see that the A2000 buys me that much. What I would really like is for some reputable hardware company to build a little box that I can plug into my A100 with sockets for 2meg of RAM, a clock, and a hard disk in it. The only options would be how many of the sockets were stuffed and the capacity of the drive. If you could sell me that for less than $1000, I'd buy it, sometime next spring. The A1000 is my third orphan computer. Great computers always become orphans.
