I just recently downloaded a part of this disk from a local BBS. The documentation in the arc file mentions that CBM sent the disk to users groups (it also mentions that the arc file is only a *part* of the whole disk -SIGH- ). My question is: Has it already been posted to the net? Does CBM plan on doing so if it has not already been done? FYI: This disk has 5 complete programming examples by R.J. Mical that are commented, that compile under both Lattice AND Aztec (nice idea, makes everyone happy and makes the examples useful to everyone), and that are MEANINGFUL. -Al

A few problems were found in Book 1 after the CUG distribution, so I asked Fred Fish to hold off until I could get him an updated version. =RJ= put a new disk together for me very quickly (thanks =RJ=), and I have mailed the new disk (Amiga Programmer's Suite Book 1.01) to Fred Fish and also to John Foust (Amicus). I don't know if John plans to distribute it, but Fred will (thanks Fred). -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Carolyn Scheppner -- CATS >>Commodore Amiga Technical Support<< UUCP ...{allegra,ihnp4,rutgers}!cbmvax!carolyn PHONE 215-431-9180 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Could someone let me know what's in the Programmer's Suite? Like, have
I wasted the last few weeks in writing simple menu and simple
requester libraries (Ah, the joys of Request_Printf!!!!)?
If RJ is planning such libraries, is there some way of feeding my code
to him so he can decide whether it's worth using? Likewise, can I get
a copy of the interface docs for what he's got in mind to decide if
what I'm doing is 1) Different enough to be worthwhile, 2)
Sufficiently worse to make it worth throwing out or (considering all
possibilities), 3) enough better than what he's got that I really want
to get him to change his?
Thanx,
<mike

RJ's Amiga Programmer's Suite Book 1.01 is a group of pop-in-your-program routines with source and tutorial docs. The Book 1.01 routines are: SetWait - Set your own WaitPointer while your application is busy. Includes hex defs of several popular WaitPointers. XText - Fast text ColorWindow - A color palette window DoRequest - Requester handling routines FileIO - A scrolling file requester Fred Fish will be distributing Book 1.01. -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Carolyn Scheppner -- CATS >>Commodore Amiga Technical Support<< UUCP ...{allegra,ihnp4,rutgers}!cbmvax!carolyn PHONE 215-431-9180 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
