Since I had a switchbox on my A1000, when my A2000 came in, I decided to
change the cable between the Amiga and the box rather than get new cables, a
DigiView adapter, etc. In addition to the new connector, the only changes
were interchanging pin 14 with pin 23 and pin 16 with pin 25.
I decided that DigiView would provide a complete test of the port, so I
fired it up. Worked fine. . . except the right 1-2 in of the picture
digitized to all black. So :-)
for (i = 1; i < 5; i++)
{
Check cable to i-th degree;
Try again;
}
As I was about to give up, I discovered a control among the requesters
which I hadn't used or needed before: width. Adjusting this did the trick. I
suspect that the series resistor lowers the voltage to DigiView enough to
affect its circuitry.
One anamoly: in the normal three-color mode, the control is in the "Camera"
menu and must be set above center, while in the hi-res B&W mode, the control
is in the "Calibrate" menu, but must be set below center to produce the same
effect.
