Here at the University of Florida we are going to set up an electronic
slide show that will post messages of information and the like on television
sets set up around the campus. We tried a trial run about 6 months ago that
used an IBM PC with a software package called PC Storyboard. It seems that a
vast majority of the faculty and administrators liked this idea, so now we
want to impliment this full time.
Basically what this thing did, was it enabled us to create different screens
containing information relating to events of interest to the university. The
program would then scroll between these different `slides', with the ability
to vary the display time of each slide, and the means to fade between slides.
We ran a line from the composite video jack on the monitor card to a television
modulator, and put this signal out over the campus network.
We have a few Commodore 128's that are sitting here collecting dust, and I was
wondering if anyone knows of any software that would do something like this on
these machines. We would rather not tie up one of our IBMs if we can do the
same thing with the Commodore. And if there is none for the 128, how about for
an Amiga? I can buy one of those for a lot less than an IBM PC.
