The Toronto Amiga Developer's Group is meeting on Wednesday, November 18th. All those interested in technical issues associated with the Amiga are welcome to attend, especially active software developers. The group wishes to keep the discussion relatively high-level technically, as there are users groups around the city that serve to introduce people to the Amiga. Our introductory discussions tend to center around advanced topics such as Networking or User Interfaces that the Amiga provides unique advantages for. People are invited to make commitments to speak on topics that they are well versed in. Since most of the group have no USENET or BIX access, that might well cover some net.discussions that you have been involved in. The meeting will be at 7:30 at the Arts Television Center, 142 George St. (that's downtown, near Jarvis and Queen, more or less). It will run approximately until 11:00 or so. Refreshments and snacks are provided, a $3 contribution is requested to keep them flowing for future meetings. Disks will be for sale: Fujis at $28.00/box ($2.00 going to the group), as a service to those who otherwise buy retail. I respectfully request that no one come *just* to buy disks. :-) There are the occasional very interesting displays. Last month we saw a homebrew elcheapo hardware hack run a 16MHz 68000 at 14.32 MHz, (double the usual speed to access Fast RAM), via a switch installed on the front of an A1000. Quite the sight! The group operates its own BBS in Toronto. Accounts are available to those who can contribute to its discussions. Inquire at the meeting. I request that anyone who plans to attend send me email at this address, since I buy the munchies and its nice to know how many to buy for. :-) I expect thirty or so, so even a dozen USENETters would make an impact. Meetings normally take place the third Wednesday of each month. It will be decided at the meeting whether to meet in December.
