[comp.sys.amiga] A2000 bridgecard

Shoot, I was not expecting this! 8^))))))))

I very reluctantly bought the bridge card for the Amiga. My company
refused to spend $600 for the card opposed to $4.4k to do the same job with
and IBM pc solution. In disgust and refusal of HAVING an IBM on my desk at work,
I proceeded to put myself further in debt to get the bridge "package". So off
to the local loyal "Amiga only" store, I had to wait the usual 2 hours to
tell a salesman I wanted THIS, to get it. While waiting extremely bored, I
fiddled with the store machine, an A2000 with 5 megs, bridge, and HD.
The salesman were so busy, they didn't notice the "rm *" operations I did. 8^)
So I fiddled with the bridge card interface stuff to see what I was
getting into. EGADS! Then I brought it up at work.

!!!!WOW!!!!

No, it wasn't mind blowing performance, but well executed! I could not
believe how AMIGA it was! MS-Dos in WINDOWS? Cut and paste?!! Give me a break.
This was techno-shock! Staunch IBMers hovering about, waiting for me to boot.
"Hows the IBM going." Then the acid test, running GAMES. Works REAL good.
IBMers were freaking watching me window CGA graphic games! Add to that, its
running as a shnazola task with all the normal stuff running at the same time!
Whipping screens now, OH GOD, THEY ARE ALL FAINTING IN THE AISLES!

Well I better stop for now. This is the first time I saw a bunch of
staunch IBMers sh*t truckloads, faint, fall, and wiggle in Nirvana.

They always secretly wanted amigas, now they WANT AMIGAS!

What next, the 80386 could prove intersting! (To me at least!)

Once again, kudos to Commodore! Great stuff! Not to mention the Fathers
of Vision, they know who they are. Sigh. I'll get there someday.

	On to NFS.
