[comp.sys.amiga] SPDP?!!!!!

cheung@vu-vlsi.UUCP (11/19/87)

I am really starting to get fed up with my purchase of ASDGs products. Not,
that there is anything wrong with the hardware; its just the lack of hardware
that bothers me. Back in the beginning of Summer I researched on what would
be my best expansion route. I looked at Supra, Cltd, and ASDG. I talked to
one of the ASDG salesmen to sell me on ASDG's products. He promised me a system
comparable to the now discontinued PAL Jr. for the same price, but with
ASDGs reputation for rock solid quality. So far I've spent $600 for 2 Megs
which I am reasonably happy with, but there is one darn thing that is
bothering me more and more. I still have no hard disk drive. I am willing
to spend as much as $1500 for a 20 Meg hard disk at this moment. The problem
is that I have the mini-rack C preventing me from expanding further. And
more and more I am beginning to regret that I ever listened to that salesmans
promise "SDP will be out in September, definitely, sorry SDP will be out
in November, no make that December"

C
Perry, what's going on there? Around September I had two or three
club members sold on the ASDG line. Now they all have 2 Meg Supras with
20 Meg hard disks.

I have WordPerfect, Pagesetter, Scribble!, Diga! and Aegis Draw Plus all
screaming for a hard disk. What do I do?

Perry isn't on the net right now, so I'll try and give you an answer
on the status of the SDP. Yes, it has been delayed some. We really
were expecting to have it out in September/October time frame, but we
hit a (non-technical) snag and unfortunately it has been pushed back
to early 1988. I understand that the wait is painful, believe me (I'm
waiting for mine as well). We still promise you that the SDP will be
the premier disk controller for the Amiga; I only hope that you can
hold out for a few more months. I will keep the net posted on it's
progress.
