[comp.sys.amiga] vi implementation on Amiga

ejkst@cisunx.UUCP (Eric J. Kennedy) (12/03/87)

For all you Unix users who would like to use vi on your Amigas:

I have just released VI! V1.0, a configuration file for Uedit. (Uedit
is a shareware text editor/word processor written and distributed by
Rick Stiles. It is a multi-file, multi-window, programmable editor.)
VI! attempts to impliment all of the visual commands of the original
vi editor, while still retaining all of Uedit's powerful and diverse
functions. Version 1.0 of VI! impliments nearly all movement commands,
all delete commands, all change and substitute commands, yank and put,
26 user buffers, 10 delete buffers which contain the last 10 deletes, 26
text markers, undo last command, redo last command, and a few other things
which fit in none of these categories.

VI! is freely redistributable. It is available on Plink, directly from
me, or directly from Rick Stiles. I would like to be able to make it
available via electronic mail, but I don't think I will have a Unix
account much longer. For that reason, please use US Mail or phone to
contact me. Replys via Usenet or email may or may not reach me. To
receive VI! and source code directly from me, send a disk and SASE to:

    Eric Kennedy
    300 N. Dithridge Apt 301
    Pittsburgh, PA

    ph. 412-681-5064

Freely redistributable versions of Uedit are available on Plink, BBS's,
etc. and the registered versions available directly from:

    Rick Stiles
    P.O. box 666
    Washington IN 47501

VI! requires version 2.3 or later of Uedit.

Thank you,
Eric Kennedy
