[comp.sys.amiga] Commodore Switzerland and Stupidity

ans@well.UUCP (Anne Schweizer) (11/28/87)

[ REALITY, FACTS AND FLAMES ]

A few days ago I posted an article to the net with questions about
the A2090 Hd-controller card and it's delivery in Switzerland ( ever
heard about our mountains and banks ?? (-: ).

An local amiga dealer promised me to call commodore to get infos about
this card. Next morning I got a phone call from the dealer, and what
I heard made me very angry !!!

" COMMODORE SWITZERLAND PRETENDS THAT SUCH A CARD (A2090) DOESN'T EXIST,
IT'S ONLY POSSIBLE TO CONNECT A HARDDISK VIA BRIDGEBOARD !!!!!!!
THEY HAVE ONLY COMPUTERS ON STOCK, CARDS (even the bridgeboard)
  AREN'T AVAILABLE NOW"

What kind of people are working there ? (no suggestion now)
A friend of mine is waiting 2 month now for a second 3.5 drive for his
A2000 !! (Answer of Commodore: We ordered it...).

Ok but now the reason why I couldn't call Commodore myself !
( I tried but my call stopped at the first level (secretary.) )
COMMODORE SWITZERLAND DON'T TALK WITH ORDINARY USERS !!!!!

At the BUEFA 87 ( not such big as comdex was ) they only presented
old stuff....(bridgeboard and a lot of PC's )

What in the hell is going on here !!! We're not living at the end of the
world !!! We live 500 km away from Braunschweig where the A2000 was
developped ! I REALLY CAN'T UNDERSTAND THEIR BEHAVIOR !!

All these things at the and leads to one thing --> ATARI !!
Selling Computers don't mean doing a maximum profit with minimum
expense !! SERVICE is a very important point, too !

But the word SERVICE doesn't exist in the minds of people working at
Commodore Switzerland.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
COMMODORE USA !! PLEASE HELP US ... STOP THIS DESTRUCTIVE IDIOTS !!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Commodore and Softwarerobbery, a little story full of facts
-----------------------------------------------------------
There are serveral big Commodore Users Groups in Switzerland.
A year ago, Commodore Switzerland created the PRESIDENTS CLUB,
a club where most of the bigest user groups are members.

They also included a Club in Basle, ( insiders in basle now of
which club I'm talking about ). Ok why not.... but ...

This club, consisting of a few hundreds of members, has only one
single aim : SPREADING AND COPYING SOFTWARE (oh no, not public domain soft.)

And just this club was offered a nice present from commodore sw. ;
2 new Amiga500 !!! ( now used as copy stations ... )

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
AGAIN ... STOP THEM ... FIRE TSCHACHTLI !! (chairman of comm. switzerland )
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope that commodore usa will try to stop this stupid guys, they
are a danger for the public !!!! I think, I never will get a response
of Commodore Switzerland directly, because the don't even now what
USENET is...

All opinions are mine, but they are shared with a lot of other swiss
Amiga ( & C= products ) owners.

<< Talking with a commodore switzerland employee about computer and >>
<< talking with a 6 year old child about computer >>
<< what's the difference ? In both cases the result is 0 ( NULL ). >>

This is a country where secretaries START at $37,000 U.S. So maybe the local
office is grossly overpaid, and underworked, etc. But it should be really
lucrative to import into it. Maybe warehouse costs are really exorbitant.
Maybe every card has to be handled individually, which could be a real pain.
Are there really high tariffs to import A2090 cards? (Get GATT after them)
It is from Hong Kong after all. So maybe CBM Switzerland is not the place
to order from. If it's less than 500km, maybe a day's trip over there is
what you'll have to do.
