[comp.sys.amiga] A1000 Mem exp info wanted. Info on Lattice 4.0 wanted also

dmg@ssc-vax.UUCP (David Geary) (12/10/87)

I just saw an add in Amazing Computing for AMMEG1 for $249.95. I
would like to hear from anyone knows anything about the board or
Kline-tronics (the manufacturer).

Also, I'm going through a real dilemma trying to decide what kind
of mem. exp. to get for my 1000. First I decided on Starboard's
2M board, but could never get it from ABEL Hardware Supply. Then
I heard of the Micron 2M board and case, but Micron wants $580.00.

Anybody know where I can get a Micron 2M board and chassis for
less that $580?

Anyway, now I see the AMMEG1 for $249.95. I will mainly be
programming in C on my Amiga, writing games and Dos-type
enhancements. I have had a 512K machine at home for some
time, but I refuse to even TRY to do any C programming
with the compiler running from disk (toooooooo sloooooooooow).

I'd like to hear from some programmers out there as to
what you believe to be a workable system memory wise to
develop software. With 1.5M total, I know that I can load all
the compiler stuff I want into ram:, and still have enough
left over to compile files, and maybe hold a few files in
ram:. Obviously 2.5M is the better solution, but I am also
considering upgrading from Lattice 3.03 to Lattice 4.0, and
that's gonna cost me $75. $75 (for Lattice) + $580 for Micron
is a bit spendy for me. Do you guys feel that you can
get by on 1M and still develop software without going nuts?

Also, I'd like to hear from anyone who can tell me of the
virtues of upgrading from Lattice 3.03 to Lattice 4.0.
Anybody know if Lattice is going to come out with a
Symbolic Debugger?

Any info on memory expansion, or Lattice C is greatly appreciated.

Thanx in advance...
