[comp.sys.amiga] Toronto Amiga Developer's Forum Meeting

craig@unicus.UUCP (Craig D. Hubley) (12/11/87)

The Toronto Amiga Developer's Forum is meeting December 16 (Wednesday),
at 7:30 pm, at its usual site, the Arts Television Centre, 142 George Street,
(just northeast of Richmond and Jarvis, George is parallel to Jarvis).

USENET types are invited to come and participate in lively technical
discussions, often of a religious nature. :-) No guns allowed. :-)

The ADF (remember us, the "big heads" in the corner at World of Commodore ?)
is actively recruiting new members, particularly those who can contribute to
particular application interest areas. Previous meetings have proven to be
a valuable forum for design and marketing purposes for various developers,
to feel out a problem before it *becomes* a problem.

Those who are interested in questions like "Where is my A500's power switch"
are cordially invited to join a User's group. Those who are interested in
such questions as "Should I be supporting Xwindows, NeWS, or something else
in my distributed workstation application", or "Why should I base my Ethernet
on Apollo NCS rather than Sun NFS", or "How much is this neat 14 MHz 68000
add-on processor worth on the market", or "Should I be building three different
hardware products for the A500, A1000 and A2000 or should I just make a
Zorro II card and provide an A500 or A1000 chassis adapter", or "How the hell
do you get a SOTS past the FCC? (answer == you don't)"...

...are cordially invited to attend, become members, speak, offer opinions,
volunteer to convene and coordinate meetings on their favourite topics, and
partake of refreshments.

I apologize for not getting the previous meeting notice out in time. If you
are reading this and planning to attend for the first time, please email me
at the address below, so that I (who buy the milk and cookies) will have some
idea of how many people are coming, and can warn the `management'.

We expect the meeting to run, as usual, to 11:00 or so with scheduled stuff.
We are trying to support longer and longer breaks, but there's a lot to talk
about presently. Feel free to bring literature (even of a commercial nature)
to the meeting, but refrain from vaporware ad campaigns. If you want to bring
something in and demonstrate it, though, we're glad you're around.
