A recent issue of Amazing Computing reviewed several document editors (word processors) for the Amiga. One, in particular, caught my attention: Desktop VisaWrite. I've been looking for an editor to dump TextCraft in favor of. The editor is used mostly by my wife to write papers for school, and she is not very inclined to learn a complicated system (so Emacs+ROFF/TeX or similar approaches are out -- I need WYSIWYG). Nor would she be very happy with a system that is hard to use. She doesn't like TextCraft much, since it's user interface is not terribly friendly. She also wants a system that will let her change fonts. Somewhat surprisingly, most Amiga editors don't allow this. So my questions: how is VisaWrite? How is the user interface? Performance? Features? Is it easy to learn? Easy to use? If you have a different word processor, how do you like it? I'm looking for a consensus on what are the best WPs, and what (other than TextCraft) are the worst. Any advice would be appreciated. Oh. I have an Amiga 1000, 2 drives, Insider 1M expansion, and (sigh) no hard disk (yet). But I do want whatever I buy to be runnable on a hard disk. Please mail responses. I will summarize to this newsgroup. -- -Peter Schachte pds@quintus.uucp ...!sun!quintus!pds
