O.K. here's the scoop. I want to take an IFF instrument file InstantMusic, and load it up in Sonix so that I can then save it as an RFF (Riley File Format) file, so that I can then alter the depth, speed, delay, and other characteristics of the instrument. So, I add the /.instr/ suffix to the instrument file for Sonix to recognise it. Then, I go to the Instruments screen, and load it. It loads up, and I am shown a screen of the waveform data. As per the manual, I then chose /Save as.../ from the menu. O.K. so far. Then, I try to reload the instrument. This time I still get the waveform screen, and not the digital sound editor I am supposed to get. I then hit the menu button on the mouse, and it EVERYTHING hangs, freezes, including the mouse. I warm boot; it happens again, except this time Sonix says has 5K more than the last time I booted. So, I power down, all the way to kickstart, and also get rid of the PopCLI and VD0: I was using (I have a 1 meg INSIDER in my A1000). I boot all the way back up to Sonix, and the results are the same, everything hangs. I also tried the IFF samples on the Sonix Data Disk; no luck. Help? Anyone? I don't have more money to get DCMS.
