[comp.sys.amiga] New Ad, A2000

Ads appearing: check out the December issue of Publish! magazine.
Two pages after the nifty new Macintosh ad, Commodore has a full two
page spread ad for the Amiga (pg 36). I don't know if this is exactly
the right place for Commodore to be advertising, but it is a promising
sign. I like the promotion of the 1-800-87-AMIGA number, but I think
that they should have chosen something other than the Juggler for the
ad. It really appears rough and toylike as compared to the current
crop of ray-traced images and video applications and especially as
compared to the images shown in most of the Mac ads (where the pictures
*really* are geared towards business). Of course, the ad may have been
in the works many months ago, so... kudos to Commodore for a good
*first* effort.

New A2000's: My A2000 came in yesterday (gee, I don't even celebrate
Christmas and still get nice presents :-) - the motherboard was rev 4.3 -
it looked very clean (nice job Dave!). It seems that the orientation of
Denise and Paula are different from the earlier units (though I haven't
had a good look at a 4.2 motherboard - only a German unit and the photos
in the A2010 manual). The keyboard was also nice and firm - many people
have complained to me about the original keyboards and wish Commodore
would do something for them. My understanding is that all that's needed
is to beef up the keyboard with some internal support posts - perhaps
Commodore would see fit to make some sort of kit for doing it available
to service centers and/or user groups?

Cheers everyone,
Eric

#insert OPINION
Many people on this group appear to have been overcome by wild irrational
behavior as of late. Please stop abusing the net - let's see some more
content and less fluff - if I see one more personal attack, or "whose is
better/bigger/whatever" war, I think I'm gonna puke. Use the group for
what we all created it for - spreading real technical information.
