[net.music] new music, latin music, zappa, tempered scales, video

Just when I thought I was never going to listen to pop radio again
I get MTV and now I can enjoy teeny bopper music again. I continue
to watch in the hopes that some day my favorite music (latin) will
make it to the screen. Has anyone noticed that YES used a latin
mambo bass line in their (l)only hearts tune! clear as a bell its
there. How many folks had their ear drums stretched by Zappa? His
music made me able to appreciate jazz. How many people found listening
was not enough and have become musicians because of it? Is there
any need for a discussion on the virtues of untempered scales
(as played by woodwinds, they grow flatter in the higher octaves)
verses tempered scales (played by ugg pianos, they grow sharper).

learn to play a flute!

ps. Son Of Mr Green Jeans (Zappa: Hot Rats Album) was a follow up
to Mr Green Jeans (Mothers: Uncle Meat). The Uncle Meat Album
was the sound track to the movie he never got the money to finish.
