documentation, etc.) as well as technical specs (DMA, buss-passing,
        # of device jacks, transfer rates, etc) are welcome.

I purchased the Cltd. aMega SCSI controller about 4 months back. I am very
satisfied with it and have, to date tried it with an Apple 20SC hard disk, a
CMS 20meg hard disk (for the mac) and am currently using it with CLtd.'s own
33meg hard disk. The driver is very flexible and will allow you to hook up to
a variety of SCSI devices and to hard disks manufactured for the MAc (a big
plus, Mac hard disks are MUCH cheaper than Amiga drives!).

The card fits on the side of the 1000 and has a pass through bus (I have an
Alegra Ram expansion hooked up to it and they run together just fine). there
is one SCSI (Mac type) connector. The board allows you to chain up to 7 SCSI
xDdevices to it. It is a HOST/Controller device, meaning you can hook it to
another computer with a SCSI port on it and share files. There is no DMA,
unfortunately. CLtd.'s support is very good, though they do not know as much
about hooking up Mac drives are the docs would lead you to believe. However,
I had no problems with the 2 I mentioned, so I guess this isn't much of a real
big deal. On my recommendation, a friend of mine ordered the Amiga 500
version of the controller and, since the cases aren't in yet for them,
received, at his own request, a prototype sans case. He also bought the CMS
hard disk drive I had been using and the two work t{gether beautifully!
Sorry, I cannot help you with the transfer rate, don't have that info
available to me. But this baby (my amiga 1000) is now FAST!

A side note, the Apple 20SC was the fastest preformer of the lot, with the
Cltd. 33meg and the CMS 20meg neck and nec for second place...

Why don't those of you with hard disk drives on your amy's mail me your views,
thoughts and reviews of the eq1uipment you have and I'll post the results to
the net for those looking to invest in a hard disk drive for their system.
