Does anyone have a clue as to why something as new and up to date as Flight Simulator CRASHES ON AN AMIGA 2000??? (Very concerned mode ON) I strongly recommended the amiga 2000 to a friend, (even help him buy it) only to find that there appear to be some compatability problems. When I tried my Flight Simulator II on it, it crashed anytime I touched the keyboard. Is there something special that must be done to make programs from an A1000 work on an Amiga 2000? I thought the 2000 was supposed to be compatable! (Very concerned mode still ON) ** Now and always, a very devoted Amiga Fan. My copy of FS II runs just fine on my 2000. It's version 1.1, though-- perhaps 1.0 (if that's what you're using) has a bug. I can't try it out since I had to send in my 1.0 disk to get 1.1. I have a Micron 2M board, and it's not NoFastMem'ed. However, I've never been able to get FS II to run from Workbench by clicking its icon--whenever I do that, all I get is rainbow fireworks. I suspect it's some sort of interaction with other software, because it behaved the same way on my 1000. Has anyone had the same problem and tracked it down? ______________________________________________________________________________ /_____/_____/_____/_____/_____/_____/_____/_____/_____/_____/_____/_____/_____/ |_____|_____|_____|_____|_____|_____|_____|_____|_____|_____|_____|_____|_____| _No dark sarcasm in the classroom|_____|_____|_____|_____|_____|_____|_____|___ |____Teachers leave the kids alone__|_____|_____|bryan@mothra.cs.utexas.edu___| ___|_____|_____|_____|___{ihnp4,seismo,...}!ut-sally!mothra.cs.utexas.edu!bryan |_____|_____|_____|_____|_____|_____|_____|_____|_____|_____|_____|_____|_____|

Take a look at the keyboard - is there a C= key and A key instead of 2 A keys? Are the C= & A keys right aside of the space bar - IE: the ALT keys are offset from the edge of the shift keys? Yes & Yes - Then I would take that keyboard to your local service center for a tune up. Seems we did release a few 2000 keyboards that would eat the first keypress. The mods to your keyboard are quick and FREE. (Plus you can then play Flight Simulator) -=> C= is the Commodore emblem and A means the Amiga key(S) <=- Of course if you dont have this keyboard you can just ignore this message :-) > > Don White -- Dan Schein uucp: {ihnp4|allegra|burdvax|rutgers}!cbmvax!schein Commodore AMIGA ARPANET: cbmvax!schein@uunet.uu.net 1200 Wilson Drive Bix: dschein Plink: Dan*CATS West Chester PA 19380 phone: (215) 431-9100 ext. 9542 +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ All spelling mistakes are a result of my efforts to avoid education :-) +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ I help Commodore by supporting the AMIGA.
