How does one go about downloading binary files via "anonymous ftp"? I'd like to download some files from comp.binaries, and I understand this can be done by anonymous ftp. I know how to use ftp, but not how to use anonymous ftp. Thanks for the help... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ "...Life in the fast lane, ~ ~ everyday, all the time, ~ ~ Life in the fast lane, ~ ~ Surely makes you loose your mind..." ~ ~ ~ ~ Life in the Fast Lane.. ~ ~ The Eagles ~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -- *********************************************************** * David Geary, Boeing Aerospace Co., Seattle, WA * * (206)773-5249. --I disclaim everything I've ever said--* ***********************************************************

I'd like to download some Since you already know about ftp :-) I'll tell you about anonymous. When logging into the remote host using ftp, use the name "anonymous" as the account name, and as a password leave your Internet address( or UUCP or just your name). leh@beach.cis.ufl.edu -- ------------------------------------------------ "All your city lies in dust, my friend" UUCP: ...{ihnp4,rutgers}!codas!ufcsv!ufcsg!leh Internet: leh@beach.cis.ufl.edu
