[comp.sys.amiga] Crystal Hammer. Is it freely distributable?

disd@hubcap.UUCP (gary r heffelfinger) (01/15/88)

Warning! Warning! The following is speculation. If my fears are
unfounded, I apologize to all involved.

Well, there's this program, see, that has appeared in a place that
heretofore has dealt only in PD, shareware, freeware and the like. I'd
like to make sure that this record goes unblemished, so I appeal to the
net for help in finding answers. "Crystal Hammer" is a very impressive
looking Arkanoid/Breakout clone. It looks like some group of people
has spent a large number of hours creating some very nice looking
graphics. Now this in itself is not an indication that something is not
right, but when viewed along with the fact that this program is
"courtesy of" a particular BBS, I (and others) have gotten nervous about
it. The title screen has the BBS's name and phone number on the bottom
of it. I've resisted the temptation to call them up and ask them about
it, because if they are a pirate board, I want no part of them.

If this program is free, I wish to express my appreciation to its
developers with a big word of thanks. If it is not free, I want to
express my appreciation to the developers by making people aware that it
does not belong on BBS's.
