[comp.sys.amiga] amiga on tv & broken 2000 pins & following instructions

rminnich@udel.EDU (Ron Minnich) (01/18/88)

On cbs news the other night there was an article about a biology
professor who turned DNA chains into music. Then played it on things
like pianos, violins, and this computer ... What's this? ...
hey, its an Amiga! Yup, looks like Amiga made it to CBS news! NEAT!
I waited to see if anyone else would mention this, but i guess i am
the only one who still watches dan rather- i confess- it was an accident.
Gee, the 2000 thing is interesting. I can image people at the
assembly line clipping pin 3 off of connectors and throwing them in a
big bin; other people put the pins in the cables as keys. What a way
to save money. I mean, no one i know has ever had trouble knowing
what the plastic key insert in a connector meant; why on earth use
a pin, of all things? Seems to have confused the heck out of even
technical literati like this group.
Maybe it's cause we can't follow instructions. We do not seem
to be able to read warranties, or even bryce's voting instructions :-)
