[comp.sys.amiga] DMCS or Sonix? Hmmmm?

(This MIGHT be a repost... I thought I posted it, but things have been sort
of fubar around here as with regards to the net, and I have seen NO replies...
so here I am, reposting it... if it got no replies the first time on purpose,
shame on you! I wanna know!)

Okay, peeples... My friend (Scott Peterson, author of GravAttack (a shareware
game that is GREAT)) is considering re-writing his game. One of the additions
he would make (besides the whizbang new graphics, and sound, and more levels,
and EVERYTHING... you'll LOVE it) would be to add music. If not music
throughout the game, at least for an opening sequence... As he is not a
musician, but I am (or consider myself to be..) he suggested that I could
write some music for his game. I'd love to do it; the thing is, on which
program? DMCS (Deluxe Music Construction Set) or Sonix?

First of all, are files portable between the two? I suspect not...

Second of all, it would be nice if the program would accept live MIDI input.
This way, I could lay down some of the tracks in the "natural way".... I believe
that DMCS is supposed to do this; I don't think Sonix does.

  Thirdly, the end result has to be some music he can incorporate into his game;
which means that there has to be some sort of independant driver we could lay
our hands on (and use legally). I KNOW that EOA must have a driver sitting
around (I've heard the evidence on one or two products of theirs), so I could
probably get one out of them; what about Sonix?

Fourthly, I saw the neato demo of Sonix (where they play Tubular Bells, and
that d*mn Cameo song, and all the other ones) and I was wondering if DMCS would
be able to do that as well... I haven't SEEN it do this stuff, and I'm not
familiar enough with the program to predict this.

  Thanx in advance,
