I would like to hear from people with experience hooking up an ImagewriterII to an Amiga 1000. I'm considering buying one for my 1000, but had no luck when I tried to connect a borrowed ImagewriterII using the Apple's "ImagewriterII-to-Apple IIe serial card" cable; that is, I made a few attempts to print (from the CLI and from a few programs with print options), but couldn't get any reaction at all from the printer. (NOTE: The ImagewriterII DIP switches were all set to their "factory default" settings.) If you have had success in using this printer, please tell me: 1) where you got the printer cable from, and was it off-the-shelf or was it made to order? 2) what preference settings did you use? 3) are you happy with the printer? 4) do you also use a modem, and if so, how do you share the serial port between the modem and printer? Please send your responses to me directly at my email address noted below. (Anyone else interested in the same information can contact me in a while, and I'll forward any responses on to you.) Thank you. Michael Horton {sdcrdcf,cbmvax,psuvax1}!burdvax!horton or horton@prc.unisys.com

We obtained the cable from: Redmond Cable 17371-A1 NE 67th Redmond, WA. 98052 206 882-2009 It works like a charm. Disclaimer: This is not a plug for Redmond Cable. I'm just passing the info on that you requested.
