blgardne@esunix.UUCP (Blaine Gardner) (01/21/88)

Could someone that has a copy of VT100 2.7 with all the bug fixes and
patches please e-mail me a copy of the binary?

Many thanks, Blaine.

It is a shame that most people here are not on Arpa-Net. Blaine, if you
were easy to get to I would be glad to, however, you are on that icky
UUCP thing, and I am sick of seeing returned mail. So I can only
recommend the new fish disks, he has all the bug fixes collected, or
you could get 2.8 when it comes over the net soon...

Alas if only I did have some access to Arpa-Net, but the machine here is
only connected to Usenet, and I haven't got a clue in the world how to
get to Arpa from here. My understanding is that Usenet-Arpanet
interconnections are even more of a black art than trying to get mail
out with a less than intelligent mail program. If someone knows of a
good book (gasp! documentation on usenet?? :-) on what exactly this
Arpa-inter-bit-usenet mess is, and how to get there from here, I sure
would appreciate a recommendation! I've been on the net about 1.5 years
now, and I'm still in the dark on some things (like this mystical
"anonymous ftp", is it available to mere mortals on Usenet?), but it's
been a fun ride.

On the subject of VT100 2.7: I did get the recent Fish disk that had the
bug fixes, but the binary on the disk still had the stray-character-in-
the-requester bug. However, VT100 2.6jrbii.2 that was posted to comp.
binaries.amiga last week ought to keep me happy until VT100 2.8 is
released.

Well while I'm typing, I ought to say thanks for all the goodies to
everyone that contributes to comp.*.amiga, especially all the Commodore-
Amiga folk. The amount of support for the Amiga I've seen here is amazing.

Unfortunately I deleted all my Net sources when the fish disks arrived,
but I seem to be looking at the same old BS-DEL bug that I had to
suffer through when 2.7 first came out.

Has anyone noticed that there is a new Kermit out for the Amiga.
Version 4E(68) has long packet support in it. I have been moving
stuff around with it quite a bit. Ckermit is also on the Mac and
on Unix (my three favorite machines).

If you can't get a copy send me mail...

   Randy
