I have a friend who has offered me a free hard disk if I can figure out a way to hook it up to my A500. Anyone know what I need to do? According to my friend, the drive was formerly used with an IBM PC. Sorry if this is too sketchy, I'm not much of a hardware man; if someone can tell me what I need to know, I'll ask my friend for the information. Be seeing you... --Lang Zerner langz@athena.mit.edu ihnp4!mit-eddie!athena.mit.edu!langz "To be clever enough to get a great deal of money, one must first be stupid enough to want it." -- G.K. There are two ways that I know of to interface an IBM HD with an Amiga 1000, these may also work with a 500. The first one is to use the CLtd box with an ST506-SCSI converter card, this will work fine. The other is a card and software put out by Palamax. You build your own card that will allow for the use of IBM controllers (ie Omnti, western digital, etc) and subsequently IBM hard drives. With the palamax card you can also use RLL controllers, hence getting 50% more space from your disk. Hope this helps. Can anyone tell me how to get printed information re: the Palomax hard disk hacker's package? Be seeing you... --Lang Zerner langz@athena.mit.edu ihnp4!mit-eddie!athena.mit.edu!langz "To be clever enough to get a great deal of money, one must first be stupid enough to want it." -- G.K. Chesterson
