[comp.sys.amiga] Help with A2000 Keyboard

parris@mit-caf.UUCP (Patrice Parris) (02/09/88)

Hi Everyone,
I hope you ( particularly CATS ) can help. My best friend
has a 2000 with a recurring problem. The keyboard will hang, usually
after about an hour of work. The system isn't dead because the mouse is
still being acknowledged and he can fire up applications with icons if WB is
running. The only solution is a cold boot. He unplugged the keyboard and
plugged it back in once and this freed it up again ( I told him not to repeat
this experiment). He is going to check the keyboard cable for loose
connections and shorts but I am not hopeful because the keyboard will hang
even if he just boots up and leaves it alone.
Another possible solution is a new keyboard. He claims the warranty
is 90 days from the date of purchase, not the date of delivery. Say it isn't
so! He ain't even got his monitor and BridgeBoard yet!

Thanks for any helpful hints or funny flames.

Patrice Parris

ps Thank you to all the people who offerred advice about music software.

Your keyboard doesnt work because you have incorrectly attributed the
above quote to some Kurgan "Highlander" dude.

Neil Young is pissed. So am I. Don't so it again.

Phew! For a while there, I thought it was a problem with the computer. The
last few minutes have been hell, but now my hands have stopped trembling
enough for me to change my .signature file. Thanks for the tip, Richard.
